Short Summary
Hello! My name is Mariana Plesco, I am the producer, the lead actress and the co-creator of the short film I'm Sorry. No More.
Our short film is about domestic violence during the lockdown. Lockdowns around the world brought rise in domestic violence. Women and children who live in this environment have no escape from their abusers during quarantine, they live in an absolute nightmare and their suffering is unimaginable. Many women don't know what to do, where to go and they have no idea that they can get help immediately. During the lockdown according to WHO:
10-50% increase in domestic violence helpline calls in some countries3x increase in intimate partner violence reports in Hubei province of China92,000 child abuse reports to one helpline in India
This is a global problem and we need your help to tell this important story and let these women know that they are NOT ALONE. The objective we have with our short film is to rise awareness, shed some light on domestic violence but most importantly, HELP these women.
Ultimately, once we've reached our goal, a portion will be donated to organizations that help abused women such as: Generando Igualdad, Mujeres Unidas Contra El Maltrato and UN Women.

The Impact
"The UN has described the worldwide increase in domestic abuse as a "shadow pandemic" alongside Covid-19. It’s thought cases have increased by 20% during the lockdown, as many people are trapped at home with their abuser."
In Spain, where we are planning to shoot the short film, the lockdown rules were extremely strict and on March 19th, just 5 days after the quarantine was announced, the country saw the first domestic violence fatality. A woman was murdered by her husband in front of their children in Valencia. Tragedies like this one happen every day and they MUST stop. The first step is to rise awareness and to talk about this big issue and that's what we want to do with our short film I'm Sorry. No More. We want to give these women a voice.

Nuestro cortometraje trata sobre la violencia doméstica durante el confinamiento. Los confinamientos en todo el mundo provocaron un aumento de la violencia doméstica. Las mujeres y los niños que viven en un entorno así no pueden escapar de sus maltratadores durante la cuarentena, viven en una pesadilla absoluta y su sufrimiento es inimaginable. Muchas mujeres no saben qué hacer, adónde ir y no tienen idea de que pueden recibir ayuda de inmediato. Durante el confinamiento según la OMS:
Aumento del 10% al 50% en las llamadas a los teléfonos de ayuda para casos de violencia doméstica en algunos paísesAumento de tres veces en los informes de violencia de pareja íntima en la provincia china de Hubei92,000 denuncias de abuso infantil a un teléfono de ayuda en India
Este es un problema global y necesitamos vuestra ayuda para contar esta importante historia y hacerles saber a estas mujeres que NO ESTÁN SOLAS. El objetivo que tenemos con nuestro cortometraje es crear conciencia, arrojar algo de luz sobre la violencia doméstica pero lo más importante, AYUDAR a las mujeres que sufren maltrato todos los días.
Una vez que logremos nuestro objetivo, una parte se donará a organizaciones que ayudan a mujeres maltratadas como: Generando Igualdad, Mujeres Unidas Contra El Maltrato y ONU Mujeres. El impacto
"La ONU ha descrito el aumento mundial del abuso doméstico como una "pandemia en la sombra" junto con Covid-19. Se cree que los casos han aumentado en un 20% durante el confinamiento, ya que muchas personas están atrapadas en casa con su maltratador".
En España, donde planeamos rodar el cortometraje, las reglas del confinamiento eran extremadamente estrictas y el 19 de marzo, solo 5 días después de que se anunciara la cuarentena, el país vio la primera muerte por violencia doméstica. Una mujer fue asesinada por su marido delante de sus hijos en Valencia. Tragedias como esta suceden todos los días y TIENEN que acabar. El primer paso es dar a conocer y hablar sobre este tema, y eso es lo que queremos hacer con nuestro cortometraje I'm Sorry. No More. Queremos darles voz a las mujeres que sufren maltrato.
